HydroStraw® hydro seeding mulch is an innovative new mulch product made right here in the USA. Our specially formulated composition of annually renewable natural fibers, tackifier, and other additives provides a new alternative to the old conventional Hydroseeding Wood Mulch, Hydroseeding Paper Mulch, Hydroseeding Cellulose Mulch of the past. You will now experience quicker and much easier loading procedures, and a product that requires less water to apply making you more efficient.
You can now add 50% more mulch and spray 50% more area per tank load, this additional coverage can quickly translate into more productive work days and less time filling your tank. Check out our newest BFM - Bonded Fiber Matrix product. HydroStraw can be used in a Finn Hydroseeder! Read more on why HydroStraw is replacing Blown Straw!
HydroStraw hydro seeding mulch is an innovative new mulch product made right here in the USA. Our specially formulated composition of annually renewable natural fibers, tackifier, and other additives provides a new alternative to the old conventional wood mulch, paper mulch, and cellulose mulches of the past. You’ll now experience more uniform coverage, quicker and much easier loading procedures, and a product that requires less water to apply.
You can now add 50% more mulch and spray 50% more area per tank load, this additional coverage can quickly translate into more productive work days and less time filling your tank. When you do the math it’s hard to find a reason why you wouldn’t use HydroStraw.
HydroStraw's manufacturing process utilizes pressure and heat to break down the straw into a more fibrous material with greater surface area. This results in greater soil coverage, higher water retention and increased productivity, which lowers project costs. HydroStraw Guar Plus is designed to provide extra protection on difficult sites where slopes, soil conditions or weather call for extra erosion control ability. It also includes a high-strength polymer binder to ensure smooth hydro seeder operation. This pre-blended product eliminates the extra step and mess of field mixing, Guar Gum pre-mix eliminates the “fish-eyes” that can form with in field mixing making the tackifier more effective. HydroStraw Guar Plus includes an additive to reduce guar gum break down by rain fall events.
HydroStraw Bonded Fiber Matrix is designed to be more cost effective than blankets and cost less to apply per acre than conventional BFM mulches on difficult sites, slopes, and adverse soil conditions where extra erosion prevention is needed. The product includes long natural fibers for maximum matrix entanglement for improved performance. The combination of fiber entanglement in conjunction with our cross linked high-strength polymer binders produce great erosion prevention and vegetation establishment.
Our objective is to produce long pliable straw fibers that have been through our Heat & Mechanically Treated Process HMT™ that allows them to interact with the paper, organic fibers and glues to lock the blown application of fibers together.
The paper component is added to take advantage of the paper mache process allowing the matrix to lock the straw in place.
The goal is to cover and coat the conventionally blown straw together to reduce its ability to be removed by the wind. The blown straw is in contact with the soil.
The HydroStraw Straw Lock is to be applied in a high viscosity slurry to keep the slurry in contact with the blown straw.
A specially formulated composition of annually renewable straw fibers that have been Heat and Mechanically Treated™.
Our convenient to use straw product has all of the well-known benefits of the conventional bale of straw without the mess of transportation, handling and storage.
This convenient to use all-purpose product is great for everything from seeding projects to pet bedding.
The extensive manufacturing process provides a clean, weed free straw product for your convenient use in an easy to manage package.
This document was prepared to compare the cumulative soil loss and the calculated cover factor between HydroStraw BFM (Bonded Fiber Matrix), Conventional Straw Crimped, and Conventional Straw Tackified.
