31 Mar Don’t Over Grade your Sites
Fine soil prep was designed for blanket applications where intimate contact is required between the blanket and the soil. During hydraulic mulch applications where a smooth surface is not required a rough prepped soil can be more beneficial. Rougher soils create friction to slow water flow to help prevent erosion. In addition slow moving water has an increased chance of settling into lower lying small pockets and infiltrating into the soil, thus allowing for increased vegetation growth. Vegetation is the Ultimate Erosion Control. How much time and money would you save by not fine grading your projects?
